Recovery Through the Power of Action: Projects Implemented by Participants of the “Your Support to Communities” Program

From training sessions to an ATV for the Armed Forces and 200 free medical check-ups: the results of the educational program “Your Support to Communities: Recovery Through the Power of Action.”

In August 2025, the charitable foundation “Your Support” launched a call for applications to its mentoring program within the educational course “Your Support to Communities: Recovery Through the Power of Action”—a hands-on program for NGOs and charitable foundations that want not only to learn, but also to implement their own projects.

This course became a space where knowledge immediately turns into action. From September to January, participants attended offline trainings in Vorzel, worked on fundraising, communications, partnerships, and leadership, while simultaneously developing their own initiatives. A key part of the program was personalized mentorship from Valeriia Tatarchuk—the founder and CEO of the “Your Support” foundation, one of the largest charitable organizations in Ukraine, featured in the Forbes Ukraine ranking.

Her experience includes dozens of implemented projects, large-scale charity events, and systematic work with partners and communities. That is why mentorship within the program became not just support, but an opportunity for participants to go through the entire implementation journey alongside someone who deeply understands how to build initiatives with масштабним впливом.

The program concluded with participants implementing their own projects. Three finalist organizations in the mentoring program not only completed the training, but also launched initiatives addressing the real needs of their communities and audiences.

Women’s Health Day — “Kvitna” Charitable Foundation

One of the projects was “Women’s Health Day,” implemented by the “Kvitna” foundation in Bucha. The initiative aimed to raise awareness among women about the importance of regular breast examinations and to create accessible conditions for undergoing them.

Over four days—from March 8 to March 11, 2025—a Mobile Medical Platform operated in the Avenir Plaza shopping center with the participation of specialists from the German-Ukrainian project MammoLoad. Women could receive free breast ultrasound screenings and consultations with a mammologist.

At the same time, the team активно worked on the informational component—engaging influencers, distributing leaflets with self-examination guides and prevention tips. On March 8, a festive entertainment program was organized for families with children, and event partners—Joco Blend, Anywell, and the ZHILYOVA brand—supported a prize giveaway for visitors.

The event was designed as an open interaction with the community. For many women, this was their first visit to a mammologist, and the initiative helped shift attitudes toward prevention as a regular and necessary practice. Around 1,000 women were reached through the information campaign, and over 200 received examinations and consultations. The project thus became more than just an event—it served as an entry point to more responsible health care.

Charity Christmas Concert in Barcelona — International Association of Psychologists and Trainers-Experts (MAPTTE)

Another finalist project was implemented outside Ukraine. On December 13, 2025, in Barcelona, at the space of the Association for Cultural Animation and Intercultural Resources (RAI), a charity Christmas concert was held, organized by the International Association of Psychologists and Trainers-Experts (MAPTTE) together with the Ukrainian community.

The event combined cultural diplomacy, support for Ukrainians abroad, and raising awareness about psychological recovery after the war.

The concert was structured as a two-part musical and cultural journey. In the first part, the Crescendo de Bondad choir—composed of Ukrainian refugee women living in Spain—performed spiritual works, classical music, and Ukrainian Christmas carols. The second part featured musician Larysa Fedorchenko with instrumental compositions for flute and saxophone, symbolically bridging different cultures. The event was moderated by psychologist and association member Halyna Ivaniuk.

This format created not only a sense of solidarity but also dialogue between the Ukrainian community and an international audience. Guests learned that the funds raised would go toward purchasing VR headsets for a mental health center in Ukraine, where they are used for emotional regulation and trauma recovery.

The concert also became a platform for building new partnerships between Ukrainian and European organizations, laying the foundation for future collaboration.

B-MALL Fest 2025 — Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation, HeroCar Program

The third finalist project is another example of how educational tools transform into real community solutions. The Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation implemented a fundraising project for the HeroCar program during the B-MALL Fest music charity festival, held on November 28–30, 2025.

The goal was to raise funds to support the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khartiia.”

A key highlight of the event was a performance by the band “Zhadan i Sobaky,” organized and managed by the foundation’s team. Alongside the concert program, fundraising stands operated at the festival, and the “Khartiia” brigade installed a VR air defense simulator as an additional tool to engage donations and raise awareness about military service realities.

Over the three days of the festival, visitors активно contributed to the fundraising effort—responding both to the music and the direct presence of military personnel.

As a result, an ATV was delivered to the 13th Brigade “Khartiia,” where it is already being used for combat and logistical tasks, significantly enhancing the unit’s mobility. The project also laid the groundwork for long-term partnerships: the foundation continues fundraising collaboration with Blockbuster Mall and has reached agreements for similar cooperation with Lavina Mall.

This case demonstrated how a cultural event can become a full-fledged platform for supporting the army—without losing its connection to live music and public space.

The educational course was implemented within the framework of the project “Unity for Community” by ISAR Ednannia, with financial support from the European Union.
