On 20 November, on World Children’s Day, Ukraine hosted the Better Care Awards 2025 ceremony for the first time. Valeriia Tatarchuk, founder and CEO of the charitable foundation Tvoya Opora, together with the Mentorship project, won in the category “Voice of Change.”
This recognition is an important acknowledgment of the charitable foundation Tvoya Opora for its public support of the reform of the child care and support system.
A double victory in this category came from the fact that the award was also received by Inna Miroshnychenko, an ambassador of the Mentorship project.
The Better Care Awards were established by the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Care and Child Support in partnership with the Olena Zelenska Foundation, UNICEF, and the Center for Social Change and Behavioral Economics. The award ceremony was held in Ukraine for the first time this year.
The Mentorship project is implemented in cooperation with the Kyiv Regional Center for Social Services and the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Care and Child Support. Its goal is to engage new mentors for orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as to foster a positive public attitude toward this form of support.

We sincerely thank the Better Care Awards for the high appreciation of our work. And to all mentors — every day you become the voice of change for the children who need it most.
