The Kherson region is still facing severe problems with access to clean water following the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant — Ukraine’s largest reservoir, which once supplied clean water to over 1 million people. As a result of the attack, at least 150 tons of chemicals and other hazardous substances were washed into the Dnipro River. Many of these pollutants remain, making the river water unsafe for human consumption.
The restoration of the ecosystem may take years. Therefore, installing water purification facilities is one of the most effective ways to help local residents gain access to safe drinking water.
"Clean water means life, and a hospital is exactly the place where it is most urgently needed. Together with EKO MARKET, we have united our efforts to provide the hospital with water purification facilities and to improve the critical situation that currently exists," commented the members of Kalush Orchestra.
You can support the initiative by making a donation on the "Tvoya Opora" website or by donating any amount (in multiples of 1 UAH) at the checkout in any EKO MARKET store.
"In these challenging times for our country, it is crucial to stand together — we have the power to help one another. In October last year, thanks to the donations of thousands of Ukrainians, together with the 'Tvoya Opora' Foundation and 'I Help,' we provided humanitarian aid worth over 1 million UAH to 470 families in the Kherson region. So when the opportunity arose to help Kherson residents once again, we agreed without hesitation," commented Inna Miroshnychenko, President of EKO MARKET.
The medical institution we are raising funds for serves residents of several communities.
Today, Kherson suffers daily not only from enemy shelling but also from the lack of drinking water. It is a nightmare that has become our reality. That’s why it is so important not to give up and to keep helping. Hospitals in Kherson urgently need proper and swift support. I am convinced that by uniting charities, public figures, and large businesses around such a critical issue, we can achieve real results. I call on everyone to join this project — doing good is so easy!" said Valeria Tatarchuk, Founder and CEO of the "Tvoya Opora" Charitable Foundation.
