Volodymyr’s heart condition was discovered right in the maternity hospital.
After initial examinations, doctors diagnosed him with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy —
a disease in which the heart muscle (myocardium) thickens, making it harder for the heart to function properly.
The parents were advised to have him regularly monitored by doctors.
For some time, Volodymyr didn’t need surgery — all his indicators were within normal limits, and his heart rhythm remained stable.
He grew up active and cheerful, spent lots of time playing with friends, and from an early age became fascinated with airplanes.
Technology, aviation, aircraft design — he knew everything about them!
But when he entered his teenage years, Volodymyr experienced an episode of arrhythmia.
Alarmed, his mother immediately took him to the Amosov Institute.
There, doctors confirmed that surgery was necessary, but reassured her — after the operation, a new life would begin for him.
The surgery went successfully.
Volodymyr became even more open, smiling, and full of energy.
His dream of the sky remains — but now he’s also interested in jewelry making, a craft his family is involved in.
Who knows — maybe one day he’ll become one of the finest jewelers of his time!
Thanks to Charity Chain, a joint project of the Tvoya Opora Foundation and Guzema Jewelry,
Volodymyr received all the necessary medications and medical supplies during his hospital stay.
Our partner, Credit Agricole Ukraine, generously provided the vital drug Custodiol free of charge for his open-heart surgery.
