Sensory Room Opens at Boyarka Children’s Hospital Thanks to "Tvoya Opora" Foundation, EKO Market, and Lilia Podkopayeva: UAH 1.3 Million Raised

A new sensory room has opened at the Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital in Boyarka, offering much-needed support to children with special needs, emotional difficulties, and post-traumatic stress. The project was made possible by the Tvoya Opora Charitable Foundation, with generous financial support from the customers of EKO Market supermarket chain and the involvement of Olympic champion Lilia Podkopayeva. In total, UAH 1.3 million was raised for this initiative.

Valeriya Tatarchuk, founder of Tvoya Opora, noted:
“The opening of the sensory room at the Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital is a major step toward supporting children most affected by the war. Thanks to the generous support of EKO Market’s customers and the dedication of project ambassador Lilia Podkopayeva, we were able to bring this project to life. It’s a true example of how collective efforts can create real change — offering children a chance at recovery, care, and a brighter future. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed!”

The sensory room is already in use and is helping children on their path to recovery. It is equipped with modern tools such as a bubble tube, fiber-optic light strands, a dry ball pool, sensory toys, rehabilitation trainers, musical pillows, and other equipment designed to support emotional and physical rehabilitation.

Inna Miroshnychenko, President of the EKO Market chain, emphasized:
“At EKO Market, we believe that business is not just about goods and services, but also about care. This project is a reflection of our shared compassion. We are truly grateful to everyone who helped raise the funds. Together, we’ve created a space where children can find peace, regain strength, and feel happy.”

Over the past year and a half, nearly 2,000 children have undergone inpatient rehabilitation at the hospital. Many of them live with disabilities, limited everyday functioning, or are victims of the war.

Kateryna Savinova, Director General of the hospital, added:
“The sensory room offers not just comfort, but also a powerful tool for children’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development. With new equipment and specialized resources, we can now provide even more effective care for our young patients.”

The Tvoya Opora Foundation continues to implement life-changing projects for children and their families — spreading hope, care, and opportunity.
