Small steps towards recovery.

Congenital heart defect diagnosed on the 9th day of life.

Small steps towards recovery.

The possibility of heart problems became known after Timur's birth, and doctors advised his parents to have the little one checked. Therefore, almost immediately after discharge from the maternity hospital, the boy had an ultrasound of his heart. Thus, on the 9th day of his life, the little one was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. For several months, the boy received medication and supportive treatment.

Subsequently, the local cardiac surgeon, who had been monitoring the child's condition practically from birth, referred him to the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. Here, Timur underwent his first surgery, during which pulmonary artery banding was performed.

The boy's second surgery was performed almost immediately, a week later. It lasted a full five hours! The little one's defect was completely corrected — four septa in his tiny heart were restored and repositioned. Timur spent four days in intensive care under medical supervision, after which he was transferred to a regular ward with his mother. In total, our hero spent ten days in the hospital, after which he was discharged home for further recovery.

Both of the boy's surgeries were performed within the framework of the "Big Little Heart" project, the main goal of which is to help children with congenital heart defects. According to doctors' recommendations, Timur should be monitored by a cardiologist to control the condition of his heart. And we wish him good health, strong well-being, and a full recovery!

We were able to provide our ward with all the necessary medications and medical supplies thanks to the #Charity_chain project, which the "Tvoya opora" Foundation implements jointly with the Guzema Jewerly brand.

And the drug "Custodiol," necessary for open-heart surgery, was provided to Timur by blogger and influencer Yana Stanishevska.
