Kyryusha was an active, cheerful, and always smiling child.
His parents first heard the terrifying diagnosis during a routine monthly check-up — he was only 11 months old.
A congenital heart defect.
Doctors advised them to wait and monitor the condition.
But by the age of four, his chest began to deform. Cardiologists insisted — no more delays.
Kyiv’s Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.
Diagnosis: perimembranous ventricular septal defect.
Three of the longest hours of waiting for the parents outside the operating room.
And finally, the words that changed everything:
“The surgery was successful. Kyryusha’s life is no longer in danger.”
Now, the boy has a healthy future ahead — free of fear and limitations!
Kyryusha’s parents are immensely grateful to Lancôme for providing all the necessary medications during the surgery and post-operative care at the Amosov Institute.
His treatment was made possible through the “Big Little Heart” project by the “Tvoya Opora” Charitable Foundation for St. Nicholas Day 2023.
