Angelika was born on November 16, 2014—a long-awaited and deeply cherished baby girl. Her mother’s pregnancy progressed well, with no signs of complications. However, immediately after birth, the newborn was urgently taken to intensive care, as doctors suspected a congenital heart defect.

For her parents, it was a tremendous shock, but they never gave up for a moment. They believed that their daughter was strong and would be able to overcome all challenges.

Further examinations at the Amosov Institute confirmed a complex diagnosis—hypoplasia of the right ventricle. Angelika was scheduled for a very difficult surgery that lasted nine hours. Nine hours filled with anxiety, prayers, and hope. Thanks to the professionalism of the doctors and Angelika’s inner strength, the surgery was successful.

Despite all the hardships she has endured, the girl’s greatest dream is very simple yet profoundly important—to be healthy and to live a full, joyful life.
