As a result of the joint initiative “Ocean of Goodness”, implemented by SOCAR, the band Okean Elzy, and the Tvoya Opora Charitable Foundation, a total of ₴3,210,453 was raised to purchase modern resuscitation systems for newborns and premature babies in need of intensive care.
Thanks to the combined efforts of SOCAR’s customers, five state-of-the-art open resuscitation systems for newborns were purchased.
The equipment will be delivered to medical institutions in:
Boiarka – Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital (Kyiv Regional Council);
Bila Tserkva – Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital No. 2 (Kyiv Regional Council);
Dnipro – Regional Medical Center for Family Health (Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council);
Odesa – Odesa Regional Clinical Hospital (Odesa Regional Council);
Kherson – Kherson Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital (Kherson Regional Council).
These are high-tech medical systems used in neonatal intensive care units, neonatal pathology wards, and during resuscitation procedures in delivery rooms. They ensure vital support during the first and most critical hours of a newborn’s life, when even a slight delay in providing care can be fatal.
The system helps maintain a stable body temperature in the first hours after birth, monitors vital signs through an LCD display, and features LED phototherapy for treating neonatal jaundice.
Each system allows doctors to stabilize the condition of newborns, help them breathe independently, support heart function, and gradually transition them to standard care.
Thanks to these five resuscitation systems, dozens of newborns across Ukraine will have a chance for life and healthy development.
Everyone could take part in the initiative by purchasing a charity mug or scented sachet at SOCAR gas stations or via the company’s mobile app.
Every hryvnia contributed to the “Ocean of Goodness” became a chance for life for those who are just beginning their journey in this world.
