Matvii – a Big Little Heart We Saved Together!

Anna’s pregnancy was long-awaited but challenging—constant threats of miscarriage, hospital stays, fear, and at the same time, boundless hope. The baby was born measuring 50 cm and weighing 2,590 g of pure happiness, with no visible health issues. But soon, the parents noticed alarming signs: Matvii had trouble eating, wasn’t gaining weight, and during crying, a bluish spot would appear around his mouth...

The diagnosis: subarterial ventricular septal defect.
The only chance for a healthy life was heart surgery.

Waiting, worrying, months of fighting... And finally—the day of the surgery. Three hours in the operating room, three hours of indescribable anxiety... And the long-awaited words from the doctor:
"The surgery was successful, no further intervention will be needed!"

Today, Matvii smiles, grows, and doesn’t yet know who he will become in the future. But his parents dream that one day their son will save lives himself.
