The Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine has officially received a state-of-the-art ultrasound diagnostic system. Crédit Agricole Ukraine financed the purchase of this expert-class medical equipment, valued at more than UAH 1.1 million. The project was implemented in partnership with the charitable foundation “Your Support”.
The Institute’s specialists have already begun using the new ultrasound system in the Department of Sports and Ballet Trauma, where patients with some of the most complex injuries undergo treatment and rehabilitation. Due to the ongoing war, the department has also expanded its work to provide medical care and recovery support for civilians who have suffered severe injuries as a result of hostilities. The introduction of equipment of this caliber marks a significant advancement in the quality of care provided by the Institute.
“We had been working with outdated equipment for a long time, equipment that no longer met today’s challenges. The new ultrasound system, equipped with a high-frequency linear probe, changes the situation dramatically. It provides outstanding real-time visualization, enabling us to perform intra-articular injections, aspirations, and nerve blocks with exceptional precision and complete safety,” said Oleksandr Kostrub, Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor.
The Director General of the Institute, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Roman Derkach, expressed his gratitude to the donor and charitable partners, emphasizing that under the current strain on the healthcare system, upgrading medical infrastructure is essential to restoring the health of thousands of Ukrainians.
“Our medical professionals perform miracles every day, but even the most skilled hands need modern tools. Thanks to our reliable partners at Crédit Agricole Ukraine, this project has become a reality. It is a great honor for our foundation to strengthen Ukrainian healthcare by providing highly precise equipment that gives doctors confidence in every procedure they perform,” commented Valeriia Tatarchuk, Founder and CEO of the “Your Support” Foundation.
This initiative represents another important step within the framework of the long-standing and large-scale partnership between the foundation and the bank. For several years, this collaboration has enabled the systematic and effective support of healthcare institutions across Ukraine, equipping medical professionals with some of the best tools available worldwide.
